I'm New

Welcome to Skokie Central United Methodist Church!

When you enter Central, you will notice that you are standing beneath the magnificent Resurrection Window. In the sanctuary where we worship and pray, you will see the antique-styled Nativity Window over the altar. This window depicts the gift of God’s love through the birth of the Christ Child—truly the Word becoming flesh. The side windows depict the story of Christ’s life in our everyday lives.

We hope to see you on Sunday mornings 10:30 AM either online or in-person.

The mission of Skokie Central United Methodist Church, along with all United Methodist Churches, is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our motto, specific to Skokie Central UMC, is "Keeping God Central in Hearts, Minds and Lives."

The Biblical roots of our motto come from Matthew 22: 34–40, when Jesus was asked, “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the laws and the prophets.”

The practical roots of our motto come from the role we intend and believe; Skokie Central UMC plays in helping us keep God central in our lives, in the middle of our daily activities and responsibilities.

Skokie Central UMC is a multigenerational and multicultural congregation,

welcoming and inclusive of all people regardless of age, race,

ethnicity, status, gender, or sexual orientation.

We are an accessible church for people with disabilities, this includes

easy opening doors,

a family washroom,

and an elevator.

We have air conditioning.
